MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – January 4, 2010 5:00 PM

Selectmen Present:        Eric R. Munson, Jr., Steven DellaGiustina and Thomas Paine

Also Present: Susan Voudren, Jeffrey Parrette and M. Steven Bartels

Susan Voudren, Town Clerk expressed her concerns about storage space (Fire Proof) for the town’s offices in the Public Safety Complex. The Board of Selectmen assured her that there will be storage in the Public Safety Complex and in the current Town Hall.

On the advice of legal counsel any emails received outside of the Town Hall will be responded back to in one of two ways: “If this email is a formal complaint or request please attend a Board of Selectmen’s meeting or send a letter to the Town Hall addressed to the complete board”.

Steven Bartels, Zoning Board of Appeals, Chairman briefed the board on the hearing of December 16, 2009. The hearing was continued to January 6, 2010. The Zoning Board of Appeals is requesting funding to hire a cell tower specialized attorney. The Board of Selectmen authorized up to $1,125 and not to exceed for the hiring of Patricia Cantor of Kopelman and Paige, P.C..

The Board of Selectmen have requested that the Police Chief or one of the Officers attend the Selectmen’s meeting every 1st Monday of the month, Fire Chief the second Monday of the month, Department of Public Works Superintendent the third Monday of the month.

Three phone quotes to drill the well on the Public Safety Complex:

Myers – drilling $18.00/per foot, $17.00/per casing, shoe drill $65

Spence – drilling $11.00/per foot, $14.50/per casing, shoe drill $65

Hanson – drilling $12.00/per foot, $11.00/per casing, shoe drill $100

The Board of Selectmen voted to hire Spence.
